When we switched it on there was no display.  We started by stripping down the CPU cooler, cleaning the dust and redoing the thermal paste.  The next step was to remove the battery from the motherboard which restored the factory settings.  Once the battery was reconnected and the PC switched on we were able to download and install the motherboard bios drivers. The motherboard could now see the graphics card and the hdmi connection was restored.

The customer was very happy that their PC was back up and running properly again.
